Tom Barron makes these fabulous blanks from real alligator jaw bone. Each bone is bleached then stabilized before casting in alumlite, a resin that is easy to turn and polish.
Tom reccomends that you paint the inside of the blank after drilling as most of the dyes used are semi transparent. Sharp, sharp, did I say sharp tools are also recommended,
using light cuts. Finish by sanding to 800 grit then wet sand to 1200 using MM sanding pads. You can then buff to a shine. I like going one step further and after buffing adding a few coats of CA to seal the bone.
We are offering these blanks in two forms, "GATOR ALLEY BLANKS" AND "GATOR MADE EASY"
The "Gator Alley Blanks" will come in two sizes 3/4 x 3/4 x 4 inches long and 7/8x7/8x5 1/4 inches long.
The "Gator Made Easy Blanks" will come pre tubed, milled and turned round, you need to finish to size.
